"England's largest waterfall — a thundering 21m plunge on the River Tees"

About

High Force is England's largest waterfall by volume, a spectacular 21-metre plunge where the River Tees crashes over a dramatic dolerite sill on the Pennine Way. The roar of the falls can be heard long before you see them, and the spray mists the surrounding woodland with a permanent fine drizzle. The short walk from the High Force Hotel through ancient juniper woodland is one of the most atmospheric short walks in northern England. Nearby Low Force and the Cauldron Snout waterfall complete a spectacular day of cascades in Teesdale.
