"Three tiers of thundering waterfalls immortalised in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves"

About

Aysgarth Falls is one of the most photogenic waterfalls in England — three levels of broad limestone steps over which the River Ure cascades through ancient woodland in the heart of Wensleydale. The falls were famously used as the filming location for the fight scene between Robin Hood and Little John in the 1991 film. The surrounding woodland is a National Nature Reserve rich in wildflowers, woodland birds, and dippers. A short walk along the riverbank connects all three falls.
